Heidi the crime stopper

OK so some excitement at the store today. Some 57 year old lady decided she wanted to steal from Value village today and so she went around the store collecting items she wanted, ripping off tags and shoving the items in her bag. Elizabeth saw her doing and told Cathrine and so we(Cathrine, Cheryl and I) went over to enforce the "no taring of tags" rule or i guess guild line. she said she didn't mean to and said she was looking for wallets, so we directed her in the right direction but kept an eye on her

Then she went away and Elizabeth and i followed her, we lost sight of her for a short second and then I saw her walking over to one of the tills. I had thought she was going to buy her items, but no such luck she made a brake for the door. As she was leaving i called over Charyl for back up and we went after her. she gave over one of her bags after she tried to tell us they were her bags, then tried to take off running, and i ran her down and dragged her back into the office, so we could call the cops on her. oh yea little ol' me taking her down haha. boo ha!

we called the cops and i stood guard, kept her from taking some drugs, tranquilizers is what she called them, that was probably a lie. a lady cop came and took statements, and we figured out how much she would have gotten away with, which was about 97. something not quite grand theft but close if taxes where in.

while we were waiting for the cops she was trying to ask us if she could just go home, she would never come back, if she could go have a last smoke, if she could pay for the items etc etc. when the cop looked through her stuff, she had a baby bag with all kinds of baby stuff (that didn't come from the store), which she claimed her son gave her, right.. and she had a baggy of drugs, not really sure what they were but the cops wasn't very happy about them, so i have no idea what they were.

the whole ordeal lasted about 1 1/2 at least but i was all pumped from chasing her down and dragging her in. i surprised a few people,just by doing that, they didn't expect that reaction from me. hehe

oh yea it was an exciting day today :)
